The exciting ‘Live from Atlanta’ which was recorded in 2003 is Casting Crowns first live album. Five of their most popular Christian music songs from their debut album and one previously unreleased are contained on the CD, and fun to watch live performances which catches the exhilaration of the band and the congregation are on the DVD. Interviews from the band and a personal testimony from Mark Hall are also included on the DVD, as well as the video of ‘American Dream’. This is a great CD/DVD for fans of Casting Crowns who would like to know more about them, the work they do and why.

If We are The Body
The astounding ‘If We Are The Body’ is an obvious favourite of the congregation and is a fantastic start to Casting Crowns live album. This compelling song is backed with the atmospheric singing of hundreds of worshippers which adds excitement to this popular Christian music song.

Who Am I
‘Who Am I’ contains beautiful though-provoking lyrics and is clearly another much loved song. It’s great to hear a Christian music band that is just as good live as they are in the recording studio, and Casting Crowns are absolutely fantastic in this song.

Voice Of Truth
‘Voice of Truth’ is taken directly from Mark Hall’s personal testimony, and so it may be better to watch that before you listen to this song as it is not as musically upbeat as in their debut album ‘Casting Crowns’. This is a solo by Mark Hall on the piano and the lyrics are definitely worth listening to, as it applies to many of us.

American Dream
‘Here I go Again’ contains inspirational lyrics and exciting music. Casting Crowns are emphatically singing of the fear we feel of sharing the good news about Jesus, and asking for help from God. This is another very popular song that will strike a chord with many of us.

Here I Go Again
The rocking ‘American Dream’ has very powerful lyrics and a great energetic beat, topped up with electrifying guitar riffs. This song contains an important message which Casting Crowns drums into us. The congregation absolutely loved this song and after listening to it, you will soon see why!

Beautiful Savior (bonus track)
‘Beautiful Savior’ finishes of the live CD excellently, as it is sung with passion and obvious enjoyment. This is a well known Christian music song, and Casting Crowns make it their own which adds originality to it, and it makes it more interesting.

Live from Atlanta DVD Reviews

It is always interesting to watch the live performances, as we can see the involvement of the congregation and the excitement displayed. Mark Hall obviously loves performing live, and the congregation loved listening to him! ‘Heart of Music’ which is on the DVD contains explanations of the songs and how Mark Hall came abut writing them, so it may be good to watch that before the live performances, as the songs will have a deeper meaning.

The interview with Mark Hall contains his compelling personal testimony which is both interesting and emotional to watch. We also get to meet the members of Casting Crowns and we learn about how they got together and what the name ‘Casting Crowns’ actually means. This is a great piece of footage which gives us an inside look at the life of Casting Crowns.
