Album Reviews

Let Creation Sing
A crescendo of sound and a crash of drums begin the 14th live Hillsong album. “Let Creation Sing” sings of giving God the highest praise, and is an upbeat energetic song with an amazing electrifying atmosphere. This is an excellent beginning song.

Salvation Is There
The original sounding “Salvation is here” is an up tempo song packed with exciting music and the background singing of hundreds of worshippers which brings a nice atmospheric feel to this song. The lyrics reassure us that everything will be alright with God on our side.

His Love
The fast repetitive drumming throughout “His love” can seem exciting first, but may get a little annoying. This is an uplifting song that sings if God’s love for us and the light of Jesus. The congregation lift up their voices and sing with great gusto to this fast paced energetic song.

Emmanuel
The gentle and quiet “Emmanuel” is a refreshing change from the previous loud and exciting songs. Darlene Zschech sings of the greatness of God in this soothing reflective song. After a while this song gets a little sleepy and the congregation is stirred up by Darlene Zschech, and she certainly gets the response she wanted!

Saviour
The slow and quiet “Saviour” praises Jesus for dying on the cross for us, and how he “deserves all the praise”. This is an emotional reflective song, which sounds great live, and a great addition to “God he reigns”.

Wonderful God
“Wonderful God” is a pleasant praise song that sings of God being worthy of receiving “our honour, glory and praise” and how we will always stand in awe of Him. The atmosphere brings a nice touch to this song, and stops it from becoming too dull.

7. God He Reigns / All I Need Is You
The highlight of the song “God he reigns” is Darlene Zschech’s beautiful lilting voice which sings of God reigning forever. The congregation lift their voices and sing together of our wonderful God which brings the song alive. This slower paced music matches the beautiful lyrics perfectly, and altogether this is a great praise song, showing Hillsong at its best.

Yours Is The Kingdom
Listeners are now brought into “Yours is the kingdom” which is a bouncy energetic song which sings of how all the glory belongs to God and how wonderful He is. The catchy beat and the excitable voices of the congregation will soon have you dancing around with joy.

Welcome In This Place
Although strange to sing to the Holy Spirit, “Welcome in this place” is a pleasant song to listen to. The original sounding tunes and the wonderful vocals of Darlene Zschech adds excitement as the congregation sing of welcoming in the Holy Spirit as they worship God.

Let Us Adore
The second CD begins with the crowd pleaser song “Let us adore” which is a slow and gentle song which sings of Jesus’ return and how we will all adore him one day.

All For Love
“All for love” is an almost dull song that sings of Jesus dying on the cross for us. This is a very sleepy song which may be good for reflection, but is otherwise a disappointment.

Know You More
“Know you more” is another nice sounding gentle song which sings of living to know God more. There is more of a congregational effort in this song compared to the previous ones on this CD, and that brings a pleasant touch to this track.

There Is Nothing Like
The increased tempo throughout “There is nothing like” will engage the attention of the listener, as will the clashing drums which stirs along the congregation. The atmospheric singing of the congregation and the repetition of the words “I live to know you more” brings a nice emotional touch to this song.

What The World Will Never Take
Electrifying guitar rifts begin the song “What the world will never take” which sings of knowing Jesus and praising him for being the best thing that has ever happened. The energy of this song will amaze you, and is much more exciting and fun to listen to than many of the songs on this album.

Tell The World
The fast and exciting “Tell the world” reminds us about telling the world about Jesus. This song shows Hillsong United at their best and is a wonderfully powerful song to end “God He Reigns” on.
